Challenge
City parking, event ticketing and park admission are usually bought as three separate systems, each with its own tariffs, payments, reporting and support contract. The work underneath is nearly the same: define what is for sale, sell it through every channel, validate it at the gate, then settle with everyone involved. Public buyers add their own requirements on top: procurement documentation, data processing agreements, security questionnaires, and gates that must keep working when the network does not.
What we did
We turned that repeated work into a product. Ticketing Guru is a spin-off product of Beelna: we build and operate the platform and lead every implementation, while local partners handle gates, machines and payment providers where a project needs them. The client gets one contract and one point of accountability.
- One engine, three front ends. Tariffs, inventory, payments, validation and reporting are shared. What changes is what the customer sees: a licence plate for a street block, a seat map for an arena, a timed slot for a canyon trail.
- Every channel on one inventory. Web and app, SMS with operator billing, machines and box office, gates and scanners, automatic plate recognition, and a partner API for agencies and navigation apps.
- Modular core. Catalogue and tariffs, sales and payments, validation and enforcement, permits and subscriptions, identity and access. Each module has its own API, so a client can start with one and add the rest.
- Built to be audited. Encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access with single sign-on and a tamper-evident audit log, processes aligned with ISO 27001, annual penetration tests, and payment data left with PCI DSS certified providers.
- GDPR by design. A licence plate is personal data: it is stored only for the purpose and period the tariff requires, with retention rules per data type and automatic anonymisation for analytics.
- Operations. Cloud-native and modular, hosted in the EU, 24/7 monitoring, staged releases, and deployment as a dedicated tenant in shared cloud, a private cloud in the client’s region, or on-premises for authorities that require it.
Results
- One platform covering city parking, events and venues, and parks and attractions, instead of three procurements and three support contracts.
- Validation in under a second at the gate, and gates that keep deciding when the network drops.
- A 99.9% availability target for sales and validation, with staged releases and 24/7 monitoring.
- Data in EU data centres, GDPR-ready processing, and procurement documentation as part of the standard package.
- Public interfaces meeting WCAG 2.1 AA, with any number of languages and currencies per installation.
